Executive Director
Christian is Rhino Ark’s Executive Director, with a demonstrated track record of working in forest and wildlife conservation in Africa. He has over 27 years of experience in forest and natural resource management, engaging with governments and communities, establishing partnership and fund raising.

Deputy Executive Director, Operations.
With over 18 years of experience in operations, programmes and strategic management, Moses has a proven track record in enhancing organizational efficiency and fostering community development through conservation initiatives. His leadership at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where he managed multi-million dollar donor-funded programs significantly improved livelihoods for over 35,000 people.

Adam Mwangi
Fence & Community Manager in-charge of Aberdare-Mt Kenya Landscape
Adam has over 10 years of experience and a track record of working with the local communities around Aberdare and Mt. Kenya National Park and Forest Reserve. He has facilitated Rhino Ark's partnership to successfully build a 270 km conservation electric fence to mitigate human-wildlife conflict around Mt. Kenya. In addition, Adam has also championed replanting 100ha of the previously degraded sites with indigenous trees; a project that won an award in TotalEnergies EcoChallenge Challenge, a Kenyan tree-planting campaign.

Valerie Gunputrav
Administration Manager
Valerie previously worked in the international paint industry and joined Rhino Ark Charitable Trust in 1999. She has a background in Business Administration and provides support across all departmental levels of administration, Human Resources, Finance, Public Relations and also to the Rhino Charge Committee.

Dr. Donna Sheppard
Research, Wildlife Conservation & Community Engagement Officer
Our researcher, wildlife conservation & community engagement officer for Eburu Forest and Mt. Kenya has been with Rhino Ark since 2015 through a long term partnership agreement with The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo of Canada. Dr. Sheppard is leading a long-term collaboration entitled the Rhino Ark / Calgary Zoo Mountain Forest Conservation Partnership in Kenya’s mountain forests focussed on the survival of the critically endangered, endemic mountain bongo.

With excellent communication skills, Zach is experienced in delivering environmental conservation campaigns, organizing media addresses, and preparing reports for executive management.

Peter Munene
Management Team
Peter is a conservation educator with over 10 years’ experience in the conservation education field. Currently, he is the Bongo Surveillance Project /Rhino Ark conservation education programmes and outreach coordinator. Under his leadership, the organisation has been able to establish 21 bongo wildlife clubs in four mountain ecosystems. Peter has successfully delivered a conservation education curriculum to 86 different schools.

With over ten years of working as a fence/community manager in Rhino Ark to preserve biodiversity, he has proven expertise in the successful execution of projects aimed at improving communities’ resilience to climate change. Joseph is familiar with multi-cultural interactions and partnership working with a variety of different stakeholders.

Thomas Mutai
Community Outreach Officer- South Western Mau
Before joining Rhino Ark as the Community Outreach Officer, Thomas worked in the tea industry for Finlay’s Kenya Ltd. as a plantation/water catchment and processing supervisor. His role is to assist the South Western Mau Ecosystem Manager and Fence Manager in the implementation and operation of day-to-day activities, and in the monitoring of conservation projects in the respective field sites and forest adjacent communities.
